B.J Jacobs
Our Rich History
The origins of our firm go back to 1908 when Charles Loughnan commenced practice on his own account and was later joined by Bert Jacobs. The partnership ended in 1918 and later Jack Grant joined the firm. After World War II, Hector Gilliand joined the partnership.
In the years that followed there have been a number of partners admitted and three have been appointed to Judicial Office. Larry Florentine joined the firm in1956 and became partner in 1958 at which time the firm’s name was changed to Jacobs Florentine. In August 2008 our firm celebrated its 100th year anniversary. Throughout the firm has continued to serve the Manawatu District and beyond, offering the full range of legal services.
The present partners are committed to carrying on the great tradition of service to the Manawatu established since 1908.
